Radiical System is a new venture studio looking to address, diagnose, and ultimately engineer specific in-house responses to complex problems and issues facing humanity and the planet, as well as, and often more urgently, the complicated, interconnected, multivariate problems (political, financial, cultural, logistical, etc.) surrounding or suffocating true progress. 

These major issues or societal complexes will be contextualized transparently using the full breadth of digital and web3 media technologies (such as the web3 journalism platform, Mirror) by resident journalists, contributing experts, as well as citizen journalists (those directly affected by the issue itself), in real time as Radiical Systems “Case Studies.”

These Case Studies, such as “Hyperinflation” and “Immigration,” will function as portals into a treasure trove of human expertise, rapidly evolving data sets, and direct, unfiltered accounts and experiences. The “Case Study” itself is the growing network, the multi-dimensional diagnostic, and the salve.

A venture studio is an organization that creates startups, typically by providing the initial team strategic direction and capital for the startup to reach product-market fit. Distinct from the venture capital approach, venture studios are closely involved in the day-to-day operations and strategic decisions of growing a new business, or in the case of Radiical Systems, new or evolved platforms or technologies that can bind with or entirely disrupt established, often corrupt or inefficient models or systems, however embedded, enmeshed, compromised, or enshrined.

Radiical Systems’ founder, Ashley Taylor, emerged from Consensys, a venture studio founded by Joseph Lubin in 2014, where she served as a founding project manager and networking consultant. Earlier that same year, Lubin met Vitalik Buterin, the Canadian programmer, writer, and Founder of Ethereum, a major cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

Lubin soon joined the Ethereum Project as a co-founder. After Ethereum was launched, Lubin established Consensys where he remains the CEO. Since 2014, Lubin and the Consensys team, which included Taylor in its earliest stages, have been working on the foundational software for web3. Radiical Systems is Taylor’s next-gen response to the successes and failures of Consensys.
